Restorative Justice Community Action

Christian Heller is the Community and Volunteer Coordinator for Restorative Justice Community Action. He is a graduate of Kent State University with a bachelors in Peace and Conflict Studies and a background in community organizing. New to the Twin Cities, he is invested in community building with a focus on underserved communities. As a gay and Latino man, he understands how intersecting identities provide compounding experiences of oppression. With this in mind he wants to create a diverse volunteer pool reflective of the Twin Cities who can bring a wealth of backgrounds and experiences that best support people through the restorative justice process.

Restorative Justice Community Action (RJCA) is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing community-based restorative services throughout Hennepin and Ramsey County. Restorative justice is an approach that focuses on the needs of the harmed parties, those who caused harm, and the involved communities to identify solutions that promote repair, reconciliation, and rebuilding of relationships. RJCA brings community members and individuals who have been harmed together with adults and youth who have caused harm. Together they participate in restorative processes that strengthen accountability, encourage pathways to healing, develop agency and leadership skills, and create safe and thriving communities.
