Every year, like clockwork (or perhaps, like a well-oiled bicycle chain), Rotary clubs across the globe hit the refresh button. It's that time of year to high-five the outgoing leader for their incredible dedication and roll out the red carpet for the incoming president and their new board. Think of it as a celebratory relay race, where the baton (or in our case, the meeting bell) is smoothly passed, marking a moment of gratitude, reflection, and a renewed commitment to putting Service Above Self into action.
Our recent outstallation and installation bash on July 10th, 2025 was no exception! It was a great turnout, with everyone gathered to witness the transition. Charmaine's proud husband was even in attendance! The meeting kicked off in classic Rotary style, with President Guy Johnson ringing the opening bell for the final time in his term.
Business as Usual
Our ever-lively Glenna Case emceed the day, guiding us through the Pledge of Allegiance and a thoughtful reflection for the day which included details of what leadership changes are all about. Then came Happy Bucks with Josh Hillger, followed by a round of our infamous (and definitely not gambling!) Card Game. And, of course, no meeting is complete without a Nutrition Nugget from Magdeline Aagard, whose parody-driven presentation was incredibly amusing.
A Fond Farewell?
The "Outstallation" was woven with a number of highlights. Laura Thomas led us through a heartfelt "Year in Review," recognizing Guy's impactful leadership. This was followed by a truly memorable moment when Dale Snyder led us in “A Song for Guy”--let's just say our enthusiasm made up for our singing!
Stephanie Swanson presented Guy with an incredible gift from the club: a hilarious "Nutrition is my Jam" T-shirt (in purple of course), a custom biking jersey proudly declaring "Powered by Nutrition Nuggets" (because, of course!), a card bursting with well wishes from everyone present, and a gift card to a swanky restaurant near his Florida digs. Talk about a grand send-off! Guy then offered his heartfelt closing remarks, thanking everyone for their support.
As Guy cruises off to temporarily take up residence in the Sunshine State for the summer, he's leaving our club in incredibly capable hands. But don't worry, he's not disappearing completely! He plans to attend our meetings virtually whenever he can and stay connected to the club while away. He recently shared this heartfelt message with the club:
Greetings Uptown Rotarians,
I just wanted to send you all a special thanks for my incredible outstallation. I’ve been reliving it over and over in my head and relishing the fact that you would invest such thought, creativity, time, money and energy on my behalf. You made not only my day, but my year. I am soooooooooooo grateful for being a part of our Club. Thank you all of making the past year what it was and giving me an ongoing source of warm fuzzies. You guys rock!
Cheers,
Guy
A New Chapter
The moment arrived as incoming President Charmaine Dwyer gracefully took the reins, sworn into office by Glenna Case. The club then united with their new President, reaffirming their commitment through the Four Way Test.
Charmaine then announced our new board and shared exciting plans for the year ahead. With Adam Kooyer stepping into the role of President Elect for the 2026–2027 Rotary year, it's clear our club's leadership pipeline is strong and set for years of continued success! The meeting wrapped up with details for the next week's speaker, day chair, Happy Bucks, and JUFS, before President Charmaine Dwyer rang the closing bell, signaling the start of a vibrant new Rotary year.

The new board kicks things off with their very first meeting, July 2nd, officially launching another Rotary year brimming with fellowship, fresh ideas, and meaningful service together! We're excited to see what amazing things this new leadership will bring!
