MPLS Parks: Calhoun-Harriet Master Plan & Improvements

Deborah Bartels is the Project Manager for the Calhoun-Harriet master plan and improvements. The project is in the Planning and Design phase. Use of Lake Calhoun and Lake Harriet has more than doubled in less than 20 years, posing functional and environmental risks to the lakes. The 12.5 miles of trail, built in 1997-98, are aging and in need of replacement. Shoreline erosion and untreated storm water continue to adversely affect water quality. The Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board (MPRB) needs a master plan to guide future improvements.
